Gavin Bate

Founder of Adventure Alternative and the Moving Mountains Trust, Gavin is an international mountain guide with 30 years experience guiding in the Greater Ranges.

UK & Ireland

Our office is in Northern Ireland on the north coast in a town called Portstewart, which is where we have been based since 2001.

Kenya

Adventure Alternative Kenya has its offices on the outskirts of Nairobi in Jamhuri Park and many staff who were once beneficiaries of Moving Mountains.

Nepal

Adventure Alternative Nepal has a guesthouse and office in Kathmandu plus a large storage of climbing and trekking equipment in the mountains.

Tanzania

Adventure Alternative Tanzania has offices and a campsite with guesthouse in Moshi, the town at the base of Kilimanjaro.

Borneo

Adventure Alternative Borneo has offices in both Kuching and Kota Kinabalu, plus an eco lodge called Lupa Masa on the slopes of Mount Kinabalu.
